Performing with Bobby Watson and the ChiArts Jazz Quintet at the Elephant Room in Austin, Tx. These young players own it! Bobby Watson composed Lemoncello.
ChiArts and I had the pleasure of playing with legendary saxophonist and one of the nicest and coolest people I’ve ever met, Bobby Watson, and the beautiful and talented Lisa Henry as part of the Thelonious Monk Peer to Peer Tour. Thanks to JB Dyas and Barrett Kinsella from the Monk Institute for all of their help and support.Photo courtesy of Caio Barreira.
Check out Bradley Williams’ New 21st Century Review at the Jazz Showcase at 806 S. Plymouth Ct., Chicago, Il. We play everything under the jazz genre, seriously. From traditional to bebop, vocal ballads to bossa nova. Also, I play tenor, soprano, flute, and clarinet in the band. That’s worth coming out alone!
This track is about surviving the polar Winter temperatures in Chicago and dreaming about the pleasures of Summer. Written, produced, bass, keys, saxophone, flute, by Anthony Bruno. My cousin, Kevin Quatman, aka the Playboy-Pimp laid down the vocals and man he smashed it! My boy Andrew Zelm helping out with the trombone as well as creative/artistic insight. Thank you both!
I had an amazing time making music with everyone part of this show. Shout out to Marques Carroll for putting this all together.
Good times performing with my amazingly talented students from ChiArts – Kurt Shelby, Maleke Clemmons, and James Sims. These guys are young but play like pros! We hope to do another show at the Prop Theatre in December with some ChiArts Jazz Combo Alumns. Prop Theatre is at 3502 N. Elston – check them out.
